Voices of Revival – Weekly Review
This past week on Voices of Revival was packed with depth, testimony, and challenge. We released three scheduled episodes and closed the week with an unplanned, Spirit-led conversation that marked a major turning point for one family.
Episode 109 – Rob Merrill
We started the week with a return visit from Pastor Rob Merrill of ALT West. Rob’s steady heart for discipleship and servant leadership came through as he shared the necessity of raising up successors, even when it requires hard conversations and patience. He reminded us that discipleship is far more about daily life than pulpit ministry, and that serving is where joy is found.
Episode 110 – William High
Next, I sat down with my friend William Highley. This conversation was raw and vulnerable as William opened up about walking through seasons of stripping, dependence, and surrender. He shared how the Holy Spirit carried him when he didn’t feel like he could carry himself. It was a sobering reminder that true obedience often happens in hidden places, and that when we embrace God’s Word, it changes what we hunger for.
Episode 111 – Ryan Young & Joshua Stienke
We then hosted a powerful conversation with Ryan Young and Dr. Joshua Stienke. Together we pressed into themes of repentance, revival, and the cost of obedience. The discussion was bold—calling out the tendency to want revival without repentance, and highlighting that real moves of God will always cost something. The Holy Spirit doesn’t just fill a room, He fills people who then transform the spaces they walk into.
Impromptu Send-Off – Isaac Sharrett
To close the week, we recorded a special impromptu episode with Isaac Sharrett. Isaac and his family are permanently moving to Alaska as missionaries, laying down their lives in obedience to God’s call. This wasn’t a short-term trip but a life-altering step of faith. Isaac’s story was a reminder that revival is not just theory—it’s lived out when families surrender everything to follow Jesus. (A link to support the Sharrett family is below.)
Top 10 Quotes from Last Week
“Success without a successor is a failure ultimately, because if you don’t have anybody to come in and take up the work… it’s going to be a failure.”
“The measure in which we disciple people goes a lot further than a microphone behind a pulpit.”
“Most of the work that Jesus did, man, it was street level.”
“Sometimes God has to strip you from everything in order for you to see Him for who He really is.”
“If I can be transparent, there were days I didn’t want to get out of bed. But the Holy Spirit would nudge me and say, ‘You’re still called.’”
“When you really embrace the Word of God, it will change your appetite.”
“We want revival, but we don’t want repentance. Revival will never bypass repentance.”
“The Holy Spirit doesn’t just fill rooms—He fills people, and then those people change rooms.”
“Every real move of God will cost you something—it costs your comfort, it costs your pride, it costs your control.”
“We’re not going for a week, or a month, or a year. We’re moving to Alaska because that’s where God said to go.”

Upcoming Voices of Revival
We’re joined tonight by Pastor Darrel Bucher from Lima First, and I couldn’t be more excited for this conversation. Pastor Darrel was on the original list of leaders I had hoped to feature when Voices of Revival first launched. Lima First has long been a house of revival, with countless lives surrendered to Jesus over the years.
Looking ahead, next week will be full with two special casts:
One featuring Keenan Snider and Troy Culbreth
Another with Caleb Ingram, Mark Burd, and Angelina Misyukovets

Update from Tuesdays
Our Tuesday Night Discipleship calls continue. This week we will not be meeting, but we will resume next Tuesday.
As I reflect on these gatherings, last week’s call opened with a powerful testimony. We have been working through the book of Acts verse by verse. One of the young men on the call, a brand-new believer with no church background, shared his story.
Recently, while we were studying the Day of Pentecost, we spent time talking about the gift of tongues and how God can pour out His Spirit—even in the privacy of your own home. That’s exactly what happened.
This young man also shared something deeply honest. He found himself around old friends who began smoking and offered it to him. But by the power and boldness of the Holy Spirit, he testified that he was able to say no.
In previous newsletters I’ve said I believe this discipleship group may be the most important thing we are doing. Stories like this are exactly why.
Please continue to hold this endeavor in prayer. Ask the Lord to give us wisdom as we seek to steward it well and make the most of what He is doing.

“Pile of Stones” — A Revival & Discipleship Intensive
On August 29th & 30th, Voices of Revival has been invited to partner with Temple of Praise Church in Miamisburg, Ohio to host a Revival and Discipleship Intensive focused on the topic of prayer.
Here’s the speaker lineup for the weekend:
Friday, 7 PM – Bradley Higgins
Saturday, 10 AM – David Pinter – The Prayer Life of Jesus
Saturday, 11 AM – Misty Shotwell – Intercession
Saturday, 12 PM – Keenan Snider – Hearing God
Saturday, 7 PM – Mikey Lamb
The theme “Pile of Stones” is drawn from the imagery of Old Testament altars. When Elijah erected a stone altar and prayed, God answered by fire. When Solomon did the same, God answered by fire.
Today, we no longer build physical altars or offer burnt sacrifices. Instead, we present ourselves as living sacrifices. In the Upper Room, 120 believers gathered in one accord, offering themselves in prayer—and again, God answered by fire.

The Romans Intensive is a series we are hosting with Voices of Revival this September. It will be a month-long journey through the book of Romans, featuring a public Scripture challenge, multiple 6-person panels, and a special closing event stream at the end of the month.
You can check out the following document for more details. This is the same introduction that was sent to all invited guests as an overview of the endeavor.
September is shaping up to be another significant month. We hope to share some exciting announcements in the coming weeks about the doors God is opening.
