Voices of Revival Podcast Update
Looking Back at Last Week
Last week we were joined by Bonnie Jones and Keenan Snider. Unfortunately, we experienced technical issues with the live board, and the feed was lost. Out of 153 episodes, we have only ever lost one previous cast, and that one was intentionally taken down at a later time due to issues with a guest. We genuinely hate that last week’s conversation is no longer available.
We hope that those who were able to catch it live were blessed and encouraged. It was a powerful conversation that wrestled with some difficult and weighty things. As I’ve reflected on it since, my biggest takeaway is simple but profound: God is our shelter. When everything around us feels unstable or is falling apart, He remains completely unmoved.
This Week and the Rest of January
This week, as well as on the 19th and the 26th, we will be joined by Keenan Snider, Ethan Robison, and David Coffee. As we step into this new year, we are intentionally slowing down and leaning in. These conversations are less about rushing forward and more about listening carefully to what God is saying right now.
Looking Ahead to February
The schedule for next month is beginning to solidify, and something we feel strongly about as we move into this year is being more intentional with topics and direction. February will be a clear expression of that shift.
We are especially excited for what will be the final cast of the month. We are set to be joined by Matt Wilson, David Coffee, and David Pinter, three of the most brilliant minds I know when it comes to Scripture. In that conversation, we will be taking an out of the box approach.
Recently, we came across a church doctrinal statement that is written largely as a rebuttal against certain charismatic or Pentecostal practices. During this cast, we plan to carefully and thoughtfully unpack what was written. We want to be very clear: this will not be an attack on a person or a church. We do not plan to name the church or anyone associated with it. In fact, this is a church whose building is overflowing, and we are actively praying for that church and their community.
This conversation will simply be a discussion centered on Scripture and doctrine. Please pray for us as we prepare for it, that God would give us wisdom, clarity, and humility as we navigate these things.
Prayer Initiatives Update
Our Tuesday prayer calls continue this Tuesday and next Tuesday over Zoom. We are already seeing incredible fruit from this endeavor. If you are interested in being involved, feel free to reach out.
Friday night prayer meetings from 10 PM to midnight are continuing as well. This week we will be with the Hollywood Heavenly Crusaders, and next week we will be with Servant Ministries.
Finally, on the last Friday of the month, January 30th, instead of a 10 PM to midnight gathering, we will be hosting a VOR Unity Rally. This will be a service with a strong focus on prayer. It will take place at Temple of Praise in Miamisburg, and service will begin at 7:30 PM. William and Holly Highley will be leading worship, and Mikey Lamb will be bringing the word.
Our plan is to end each month, as we build toward Riverfront Revival, with a rally like this. February and March rallies are already lined up. On February 27th, we will be with Servant Ministries, and on March 27th, we will be with Rejoicing Life Church of God.
Fundraising Update and Honest Reflections
For those who keep up with the newsletter, you know that we recently launched a fundraising campaign to raise $20,000 to help cover events and build a mobile studio. In the first week, we saw $420 come in. We shared an update last week, and since then, nothing new has come in.
To be completely honest, from a purely intellectual standpoint, I don’t know what to do. Almost everything we did last year operated at a loss, and what we did last year cannot simply be replicated. We have to find a sustainable way to secure funds moving forward. We are now at a point where we have legitimately started saying no because of finances.
Recently, someone offered to donate a FedEx style van that could hypothetically be turned into a mobile studio. My heart wanted to say yes immediately. But if I am being a good steward, the answer has to be no. Taking something like that on would add thousands of dollars in work when we have not even been able to raise $500.
The doors in front of us are bigger than the resources we currently have. I suppose that is a good problem to have. Faith says to walk forward and say yes regardless, and I can assure you, my spirit says yes a hundred times over.
What I do know is this: God always provides. There is a giant in front of us that feels impossible. But on day one, when we launched the giving campaign and the $420 slowly came in, I can’t fully explain it. It felt like God was present in that moment, quietly assuring us that He has this covered.
Thank you for praying, standing with us, and walking this journey alongside Voices of Revival. We are grateful for you.
