Who have you taught to pray

Prayer List
This week’s prayer focus remains the same as the previous week. The link below is a direct link to the PDF containing the current prayer list.
Tonight
Our in person prayer gathering is scheduled for tonight from 10 PM to midnight at ALT. I do not normally do this, but if you are planning to attend, I ask that you give me a heads up so I have a general idea of who is coming. Feel free to send me a text if you plan to be there. If you do not have my number, it is 937 581 4065.
The reason I ask is because there is a good chance I may arrive a bit late. I am planning to attend a revival service tonight that is close to an hour away before coming to ALT.
Reflections
As I reflect on our prayer list this morning, my heart keeps returning to the call to multiply intercessors. The group of intercessors who have gathered has consistently carried this burden, and it has deeply shaped the prayer list we are stewarding together.
Instead of using heavy or religious language, I want to frame this simply.
Who have you taught to pray?
Have you ever taught someone how to pray?
One of the very first things Jesus did with His disciples was teach them to pray.
I had a meaningful moment last night that reminded me how simple this can be. Two guys from the youth group I work with approached me and started asking questions about fasting and prayer. Their questions kept coming, and you could tell something was stirring. I paused the conversation and suggested we meet early on Thursday before youth group.
We met forty five minutes before youth and simply walked through Matthew chapter six and a few other passages together. There was no dramatic moment or fire falling from heaven. It was simple, honest, and grounded.
Teaching people to pray and teaching people to intercede does not have to be complicated.
Jesus placed great value on prayer from the very beginning, and we need to do the same. Prayer is not secondary. We have to stop treating it like it is. If we are not willing to champion prayer, who will?
